THE APPRENTICE

Born and raised in Southall, West London, Anjam was keen for financial independence and began working from the Age of 16. 

After completing a diploma in Media Studies, she became an apprentice choosing to start with Business and Finance.  Throughout her career Anjam gained experience spanning 30 years in General, Account, Finance, Project, Business, Client and Brand Management for private, international firms and multinational companies.

ELEMENTS OF FREEDOM

Extraordinary events in Anjam’s life came with betrayals in the workplace, friendship and personal life - All of which eventually paved the road to success. This parred with her zest for a cosmopolitan lifestyle, freedom and travel. Attributed to her love for world cultures, raw commodities and diversity. 

THE SILK ROAD

In 2017, coming up to the age of 40, Anjam set up a consultancy company and subsequently took on a role as a Brand Consultant for a luxury  brands distributor, working with markets along the Silk Route, such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan.

During a business trip at the Travel Retail Expo Cannes, in 2018, Anjam accompanied the CEO and met existing business partners such as Cartier, Bulgari, Lalique and multiple founders of upcoming niche perfume brands. Anjam observed these niche brands showcase and gained inspiration from founder stories which were profound and intriguing.

A meeting with Gulcheckra-begim was a turning point - The first female businesswoman to emerge from the Ex-Soviet countries, Begim LLC a luxury distributor established 35 years in Uzbekistan. Begim presented their Perfume Treasure Collection - Made in France, dedicated to the Silk Road and world gems such as Kohi-Nur and Ruby of Temür. The Ruby for Her Perfume spoke to Anjam it captured an inner essence and was empowering!

FINDING ACCOLADE

By now Anjam was passionate about luxury heritage perfumes but felt niche brands deserved to be showcased. Anjam felt that the niche industry could play an integral part through recognition, as to her “niche perfumes are empowering in each detail”.

A year on Anjam received blessings from her mentors in the industry and started her own venture with Begim Perfumes as the launch brand partners!

After looking up the characteristics of her own name “Anjam” the word Accolade appeared. Accolade is the traditional word for awards, honours, and merit. The ideology, symbolism and relevance appealed to her and fitted in with her vast experiences and mindset.

Accolade Parfums® pre-launched in August 2020 as an agent, online retailer of rare niche perfume brands. 

Anjam feels that everyone should have choice “Why shouldn’t we have the best things and feel appreciate through every phase of our lives?"
